Coaching & Advisement

Nonprofit executives have one of the toughest jobs in the world. You have incredible missions to fulfill, but rarely the resources you need to realize them. But you don’t have to go it alone — Civitas Strategies’ senior consultants bring years of management experience to bear in helping you meet your organizational and professional goals.

Coaching

Our coaching program is designed to help you establish clear and measurable goals to realize impact over a span of three to six months.  We then work together to realize those goals, using the realistic and attainable strategies best suited to your strengths, available resources, and needs. Common coaching efforts we support include:

  • Helping new nonprofit leaders define and navigate their position.

  • Exploring, developing, and evaluating new innovations to your program model.

  • Building board recruitment and engagement.

  • Assessing talent development needs and coaching low performers to realize their potential.

Coaching engagements typically include bi-monthly meetings by phone or video conference. Specific pricing depends on length and frequency of meetings as well as any other requested services.

Advisement

Our advisement services provide a more intensive level of support to nonprofit leaders. A typical package includes bi-monthly coaching calls and up to 3 hours per month of on-demand senior support, designed to address challenges such as:

  • Navigating unanticipated strategic issues.

  • Addressing human resource challenges.

  • Crafting high stakes communications (such as that letter to a potential major donor).

  • Troubleshooting questions on board engagement and governance.

Advisement engagements with a Senior Consultant typically last six months with two monthly coaching calls and three hours of on-demand service. The engagement length can be further customized given your level of need.

Regardless of the package selected, our coaching and advisement services always strive to provide actionable, pragmatic guidance that will bring sustainable results on the most common challenges nonprofit executives typically face, including:
